The restaurant and hotel Baumgartenbrueck has been in the family-owned estate of Herrmann in Schwilowsee (a community in Germany, in the land of Brandenburg) since 1826. The establishment is still operating.
The beauty of the area around the restaurant inspired artists and poets. Thus, Theodore Fontana - a German writer and poet of the 19th century, often dined here. He described Baumgartenbrueck as a place of freedom.
