In the 1870s, the artist repeatedly visited the East. Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Sudan, Abyssinia.
Creoles were referred to as descendants of mixed marriages living in Latin America, Brazil, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Africa.
The painting comes from the collection of a well-known collector of the Soviet period J.C. Acharkian and was exhibited at the exhibition of paintings, sketches and sketches from private collections "Russian painting of the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries." 1951-1952
