Poppaea Sabina, second wife of the Roman Emperor Nero. For her Nero divorced his wife Octavia. Not content with a moral and actual victory, Poppaea made every effort to get rid of the popular Octavia. The former Empress was first exiled to the island on false charges and soon brutally murdered, and her head was brought to Rome for Poppaea’s amusement.
