It is not known to the general public that one of the brightest Russian artists of the first half of the 20th century, Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna Romanova, came out of the Romanov dynasty.  Her paintings are in many museums around the world and in private collections.
Olga Romanova was the younger, scarlet-born (i.e., born to her parents during their reign) and the most beloved child of Alexander III, as well as the natural sister of the future tsar Nicholas II.
During her life, the Grand Duchess painted more than 2,000 paintings. As a child she was given art lessons by the best Russian artists: Kirill Lemoch, Vladimir Makovsky, Stanislav Zhukovsky, Sergey Vinogradov, Konstantin Kryzhitsky
