The artist is known for his love of the Russian North and the Arctic. Immediately after graduation from the Moscow State Art Institute named after him. V.I. Surikova the master went to the island of Svalbard, where he spent a year. He also participated in an expedition in the White Sea, making creative trips to Chukotka, Taimyr and Kamchatka.
